Approaches
Approaches
As a collective, we posses the opportunity to extend the range of techniques used in treatments. These techniques can involve:
Attachment-Based Therapy: focuses on rebuilding trusting, supportive relationships in order to create and maintain healthy emotional and physical relationships as an adult.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): is cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on enhancing the patient's capabilities in order to manage interpersonal conflicts.
Narrative Therapy: distances the patient from their problems in order to cultivate new perspectives to refrain from defining themselves by their problems.
Choice Therapy: is based on the simple premise that every individual only has the power to control themselves and has limited power to control others. Individuals are empowered to take responsibility of their choices and support others in taking ownership of their choices.
Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian Therapy): is a non-authoritative, non-directive, empathetic approach that highlights the idea that individuals hold the potential to self-understand and self-alter in order to facilitate change.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): is based on research findings and focuses on examining how an individual's cognition, behaviors, and emotions are linked. Doing so aids people in achieving their desired goals or changes.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): aims to improve the quality of life by finding solutions to present obstacles and by preparing for future circumstances.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): addresses persisting trauma that has occurred since his/her youth, and combats that with their current emotional and mental health needs.
